Silent Hill 3 Special Edition
| This is not the game, nor is it some nonexistent second sequel to the movie. This is, in fact, a professional quality capture of the game, formatted to DVD video. The entire plot line is present, as well as many extras that you can't see unless you play it through several times. So burn this to a DVD and watch it on your big screen! Please see the readme in the ISO for more information. This is the first of what I hope to be many similar projects. If you are a fan of the series, give it a try! P.S. | Project Completed April 2nd, 2008. I hope you enjoy this DVD. I estimate about a total of 70 hours were spent capturing and editing. It was a fun project, and the first one like it that I have done. Technical info: Hardware: AMD Athlon 3000+ Socket 939 512KBL2 Venice Core Biostar M9-6100 Motherboard 1 GB Kingston HyperX 2-3-3-6 PC3200 Memory, Dual-Channel 1 TB Western Digital 16MB Cache SATA2 Hard Drive ATI Radeon X1950XT 256MB PCIe Video Card Pioneer DVR-108 DVD/RW Extra strength Tylenol (for those long editing nights) Software: Silent Hill 3 for PC Sonic Foundry Vegas 4.0 (note: DVD credits incorrectly labels this as Sony Vegas 4.0) Sony Vegas 7.0 Sony DVD Architect 4.0 FRAPS Version 2.7.2 Adobe Audition 2.0 JASC Paint Shop Pro 9.0 Microsoft Solitaire (for the long render times) I know the framerate jitters a little bit in various spots, but it doesn't seem so bad that it interferes with the overall experience. Also, it seems that on my hardware, the video and audio get slightly out of sync if a particular recording lasts very long. I tried to compensate for that by capturing it in smaller chunks, but that is not possible for some of the longer cutscenes. Let me know what you think, and whether this was a waste of your time or not. I really want to do another project like this, and am wide open for suggestions. Your criticism, be it positive or negative, is welcome. Also, please let me know if there is anything I may have missed. If there is something glaringly overlooked, I will consider a re-release. However, please don't email me to tell me I suck at this game. I am well aware of how badly I play, but I do have a great personality. Thanks for watching, Jer silenthilltheater@gmail.com |
