Unlockables

After you complete Silent Hill 2 Remake once, you can start a New Game+ where you can find various extra items required for the secret endings as well as one extra weapon. You will also unlock new graphic mode settings. Read on below for full details.

New Graphic Modes

By default, Silent Hill 2 Remake offers 2 graphic modes which you can select under the Display & Graphics settings: Default and 90s with subdued colors more like the original's palette. Finishing the game once unlocks the rest of the graphic filters, making it ten in total:

  • Pixelate 256
  • Black & White
  • Black & White vs Red
  • VHS
  • Old CRT
  • Outline+Posterize
  • Green LUT
  • Red Dithering

Extra Weapon

There's only one extra weapon in New Game+.

Chainsaw

Location: Silent Hill Ranch, stuck on a pile of wooden logs just opposite the ranch sign.

Extra Items/Endings

There are 13 extra items in New Game+ as well as one new memo all of which are required to get new secret endings. Read the Endings section on how to use these items to unlock five extra endings:

  • Rebirth
  • Bliss
  • Stillness (only after getting the In Water ending)
  • Dog
  • UFO

“Crimson Ceremony”

Ending: Rebirth
Location: Graveyard, in front of the gravestone in the northeastern corner.

Key of Sorrow

Ending: Stillness
Location: Wiltse Rd., in the back seat of a green car right after passing through the tunnel.

Broken Key Part

Ending: Dog
Location: Eastern South Vale, inside the back storage room of the Pet Center.

Blue Gem

Ending: UFO
Location: Eastern South Vale, on display in the left window of The Silent Jewellers store.

Rusted Key/Cryptic Letter

Ending: Bliss
Location: Western South Vale, inside a locked safe behind the counter in Peter's Bowl-O-Rama. The code for the safe is 1887.

White Chrism

Ending: Rebirth
Location: Western South Vale, a bottle of white liquid on a table near the Baldwin Mansion entrance.

Broken Key Part

Ending: Dog
Location: Western South Vale, inside a dog house in the backyard of the first house on Katz Street.

Dog Key

Ending: Dog
 Location: Combine the two broken key parts to get the Dog Key.

Small Chest

Ending: Bliss
Location: Brookhaven Hospital, inside the Garden gazebo.

White Claudia

Ending: Bliss
Location: Combine the Small Chest with the Rusted Key in your inventory.

Obsidian Goblet

Ending: Rebirth
Location: Silent Hill Historical Society, in a wall niche in the main exhibition hall.

“Lost Memories”

Ending: Rebirth
Location: Lakeview Hotel, on a shelf inside Lost & Found (replaces the Lost & Found Note that is here during a normal game).

Toluca Postcard

Ending: Stillness
Location: Inside a locked safe in the corner of Manager’s Office in the Otherworld Hotel. Use the Key of Sorrow for the key lock, and input the code 314 (right to 3, left to 1, right to 4) for the combination lock.
