Shrine Vault Puzzle

Input the correct symbols found on the back of the emas:

Field Puzzle

Find the correct scarecrow in each group, following the clues that are found on the scarecrow at the front, remove a thorn from its body, and it will point in a specific direction with its arm for you to go next:

• Story:
  1. A girl with a sickle in her right hand.
  2. A girl in the middle without any weapon.
  3. A girl on the right with her head upside down and a yellow bird brooch.
  4. A girl on the right with her arms spread out.
  5. A girl in the back strung up like on a cross.

• Hard:
1. A girl with a sickle in her right hand and a mask on the back of her head.
2. A girl in the middle with a sickle in her right hand and another one stabbed into her back.
3. A girl in the back with her head upside down.
4. A girl on the right with her arms spread out.
5. A girl in the back strung up like on a cross and stabbed with a sickle into her back.

• Lost in the Fog:
1. A girl on the left with her head upside down.
2. A girl in the back strung up like on a cross and with a sickle in the ground at her feet.
3. A girl behind the lying boy scarecrow with a knife in his chest, holding no weapons.
4. A girl in the middle between the scarecrows that look like Shu and Rinko, looking at each other.
5. Follow the directions of the arms of the lying scarecrows to find a scarecrow standing alone in the field.

Stairwell Puzzle

You will need to solve the Stairwell Puzzle to find the second-floor key:

• Story: The Main Building 2F Stair Key is locked inside the desk drawer in the teachers' office. The drawer can be picked up with the Hairpin you will find inside the rabbit hatch in the southeast of the yard (accessed via an open window in the southern classroom).
• Hard: Go outside to the school yard via the window in the southern classroom. You will find the Main Building 2F Stair Key in front of the flowerbed with the blue flowers in the western section of the yard.
• Lost in the Fog: Go outside to the school yard via the window in the southern classroom. Go up the stairs to the west of the main entrance, and you will find the Main Building 2F Stair Key by the potted blue flowers next to the entrance.

Secret Box Puzzle

Use the hints from the Unopened Letters to slide the panels on the sides of the box and reveal the objects mentioned in the letters: sweet and tart fruits, journals and blooming sakura:

Locker Puzzle

The codes to the lockers can be found in various notes scattered across second-floor classrooms and the old annex building. The codes are encrypted with the "girl code," in which numbers are substituted with similarly-looking letters:

The Key Cabinet Key is inside Asakura Ayumi's locker, and this is the only locker that you must open. The code to it is in Asakura's Textbook, found in the Old Annex's classroom:

• Story: SEA – 534
• Hard: BUS – 865
• Lost in the Fog: EGG – 399

Opening other lockers is optional:

• Aoi Takeshi: AOI – 401. Inside is the Origami of Grievances with the hint for Suga Yosie's locker.
• Tsuchiya Taiko: 377. Inside is the Omamori [Wolf].
• Suga Yosie: SOS – 505. Inside is the Upgrade: School Bag.

Light Puzzle

Align the cages on each side and collect the Talon Lampshade and Restrain Lampshade from the open cages:

• Story: The statues on both sides should be facing each other.
• Hard: The statues on both sides should be facing away from each other.
• Lost in the Fog: The statues on the left side should be facing away from each other, and the statues on the right side should both be facing the left.

Memories Puzzle

Collect missing Shu’s prized possessions:

• Story: Brainiac Comic.
• Hard: Drawing of a Young Shimizu Hinako and Brainiac Comic.
• Lost in the Fog: Drawing of a Young Shimizu Hinako, Raygun and Brainiac Comic.

Ominous Photo Puzzle

• Ending 1: Flip Hinako's portrait upside-down.
• New Game+. Ending 2: Flip the portraits of Hinako's friends upside-down.
• New Game+. Ending 3: Flip the portraits of Hinako's parents and Sakuko upside-down.
• New Game++. Ending 4: Flip everyone's portraits except Hinako's upside-down.

Scales Puzzle

Balance the scales by placing all five dolls to solve this puzzle:

• Ending 1: Place the headless doll on one side and the other four on the other side.
• New Game+. Ending 2: Place the headless and the half-mask dolls on one side and the other three on the other side.
• New Game+. Ending 3: Place the schoolgirl and the half-mask dolls on one side and the other three on the other side.
• New Game++. Ending 4: Place the schoolgirl doll on one side and the other four on the other side.

Crimson Water Puzzle

This puzzle is required for Endings 2 and 4. First, you will need to obtain the Agura no Hotei-sama in the Hermitage of Crimson Water. Find the new area in the Dark Shrine Main Hall:

1. Go through the metal door at the start of the area in the southeast corner.
   

2. Go through the door to your immediate left and up the stairs. After fighting the monsters, go through the wall with the Inari-sama seal, using your focus ability.
3. Continue the path and you will arrive at the garden with ponds and islands – the Hermitage of Crimson Water. Step inside the building in the center and collect the Hotei-sama sitting Cross-Legged bottle.

Complete the Crimson Water Puzzle, so you can purify the Sacred Sword later in the game after you return to Ebisugaoka. Note that you must do it before you obtain the sword, as you won't be able to go back to do the puzzle.

Solve the puzzle by ringing the three bells in the garden in the correct order – the great stone on the northern island will provide you with the hints:

1. Stone symbol – the bell on the balcony of the building overlooking the garden.
2. Water symbol – the bell on the island with the great stone to the east.
3. Tree symbol – the bell across the stone bridge from the previous bell.
4. The puzzle will be complete after ringing the final bell, and your journal will get updated. Nothing more to do here, so leave the area and proceed with the game's walkthrough.

Once back in Ebisugaoka and with Sacred Sword in your possession, proceed down the mountain and find an old Oinari-sama shrine in the northwest of the forest. Approach the water basin and interact with it to purify the sword in order to get Endings 2 and 4.

Sacred Sword Puzzle

This puzzle is required for Endings 3 and 4. To complete it, you will need to give five offerings to the Jizo statues:

1. Ebisugaoka Part 1. Find the first offering in the house at the start of the game after playing the treasure hunt game:
• Pick up the Balcony Key in a crate with a doll inside the second-floor room.
• Proceed through the balcony door and enter the other room on the second floor. Check a document on a dresser to collect the Treasure Hunting Game Key.
• Go downstairs and collect the Faded Bride Doll from the small chest in the kitchen storage.

Go down the mountain and find the first Jizo statue at the bottom of the mountain path. Interact with the statue to give the offering (1/5).

2. Ebisugaoka Part 2. Head north all the way until you reach the Sennensugi Shrine. You will find the Rusted Flask at a small shrine to the right of the gate.
   
Go downhill to the crossroads and take the left turn. Enter the outdoor workshop area and find the second Jizo statue in its back. Interact with the statue to give the offering (2/5).

3. Ebisugaoka Part 3. Make your way up the stairs around the damaged bridge and pick the Broken Japanese Geta Sandal in front of the construction debris on the other side of the bridge.
   
Backtrack to the third Jizo statue next to one of the houses. Interact with the statue to give the offering (3/5).
4. Ebisugaoka Part 4. Once you arrive at Shu's house, find the Cracked Hibachi Brazier behind Shu's workshop.
   
Return towards the Hokora shrine to find the fourth Jizo statue halfway down. Interact with the statue to give the offering (4/5).

5. Ebisugaoka Part 5. On your way down the mountain, find Dad's Old Kitchen Knife stuck in a tree behind one of the houses.
   
Go directly west to find the fifth Jizo statue to the left of another house. Interact with the statue to give the offering (5/5).

6. Once you've completed all five offerings, it's time to come to the divine tree at the forgotten shrine, which is a long way across the forest to the southwest. When arriving, Hinako will find this mysterious sword at the base of the tree.
