Playable demo of Silent Hill was included on the the Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine Demo Disc #16. Contains two scenes:

  • Opening nightmare and meeting with Cybil at Cafe 9 to 5. Ends when Harry tries to pick a radio
  • Exploration of Midwich Elementary School with some puzzles and a transition to nightmare school. Ends when Harry tries to leave through the lobby

Silent Hill Trial Version (Taikenban)

Playable demo which came in a cardsleeve with an insert with an overview of the controls. This demo contains the two same scenes as the OPM demo: opening and school. Grey Children in the american demo are replaced with Mublers in the Japanese version.

Metal Gear Solid + Silent Hill Playable Demo

The European release of Metal Gear Solid came with a playable Silent Hill demo and a poster. The demo features the entire school section (normal and alternative). There are still Grey Children present which were replaced by Mumblers in the European release of the game.

Metal Gear Solid + Silent Hill Non-Playable Demo

Unlike other European releases of Metal Gear Solid, the German release did not come with a playable demo disc. The disc contains only the opening trailer, which is also on the European disc. A poster was also included.

The disc came with Australian PlayStation magazine (September 1999 issue) and was also used as a trade demo in Europe without any sleeve. The disc features the second PAL demo - a later build than the demo which came with the European release of Metal Gear Solid.
