Key Summary
- Chase the Fog Monster, defeating the enemies along the way that prevent you from proceeding further.
- Trophy/Achievement: Where Are You Going? Catch up with the Fog Monster 3 times. When you see the monster up ahead, sprint to it, ignoring other enemies.
- Dried Carcass (⛩200) is in a crate behind the house after the first Hokora shrine on the mountain path.
- Upgrade: Ema is on a red barrel to the right of the blue truck, blocking the road.
- Trophy/Achievement: A Federal Offense and Omamori [Spider]. If you haven't opened Sakuko's mailbox with the key collected at the Sennensugi Shrine in chapter 3, this is your second and last chance to do so.
- Antique Comb (⛩300) is in a box next to the notice board near the Chizuruya General Store.
- Once you finally reach the Fog Monster, you will be transported to the Dark Shrine Worship Hall after a cutscene. Proceed to the next cutscene to return to the town.
- Make your way back to the Shimizu Residence. Inspect the red dolls on your way and defeat all monsters to proceed.
- Dried Carcass (⛩200) is on some stone bricks in front of Sakuko's house.
- Antique Comb (⛩300) is inside the shed in a vegetable garden on the mountain path (before the Hokora shrine).
Complete Walkthrough
Chase after the Fog Monster
This part of the game is essentially you trying to catch up with the Fog Monster, fighting hordes of enemies along the way. Occasionally, you will run into blockages where you will have to defeat all monsters before you can proceed.

Go right and run after the Fog Monster to catch up with it for the first time. On the path to the left, you will find a First Aid Kit on a stone and across the path there will be a Ramune (⛩20) on a washing machine next to a house and a Kitchen Knife stuck in the wall. At the house at the path turn, you can find a Bandage on a bench, a Yokan (⛩30) on a box behind the house to the left and Red Capsules in a shed to the right. Continue along the mountain path to reach the Hokora shrine and find an Axe next to it. To the right, you can find a Divine Water (⛩50) downstairs.
Continue east. A monster will jump at you as you pass the house. You can find a Dried Carcass (⛩200) in a box behind the house. The house in the east has a Baseball Bat in front of the entrance, a Bandage and a Toolkit to the left. Head west and you will have the chance to catch up with the Fog Monster for the second time. Next to the red postbox, you can find a steel pipe and across the path you can find a Sickle in front of another house and a Higashi (⛩80) around the corner.
Move along, and you will run into another hatcher monster that you will have to defeat to unblock the path. In this area, you can find a Bandage on a plant stand to the left. Head south. In the driver's seat of the blue truck, you can grab more Red Capsules. In an alley to the west of the truck, you can pick up a Bandage from a bench, a Crowbar and an Upgrade: Ema on a red barrel.

There's also a Hokora shrine if you need it. Continue south. A Kitchen Knife is in a pot with a plant to the left. You can check the notice board to see different text here and collect an Antique Comb (⛩300) in a box next to it. On a bench opposite the notice board, you can find Red Capsules and a Toolkit.
If you haven't done that previously, you can go east to Sakuko's residence and open her mailbox with the Key to Sakuko’s Mailbox to receive the Omamori [Spider] and a Letter from the Hospital, as this is your last chance to collect the items and receive the Trophy/Achievement: A Federal Offense. Also, in the dead end to the north of the residence, you can find a Kudzu Tea (⛩100) and a Crowbar if you need it.

Move south and then east. To the left, you can grab a Sickle sticking from a fleshy mass. To the east, one more birthing monster that you will have to deal with. You can find a Crowbar next to a well here and a Toolkit with Red Capsules on a bench to the right of the well. To the north, there's a First Aid Kit on a stool and a Ramune (⛩20) on a bench to the east. Head south toward the Chizuruya General Store, and you will finally reach your target.
Proceed to the Worship Hall
Go ahead and watch another cutscene after you reunite with Fox Mask.
Return to the Shimizu Residence
Back in the town, it's time to go back home again. The town will be completely transformed, and you will have all your abilities from the Dark Shrine. Go north and examine a red doll on the stone mound. The Dark Shrine monsters will attack you, and you will have to defeat them all to proceed. Don’t forget to Soul Siphon them. Also, to the north there's a Bandage on a stool. Proceed to the north. At the dead end next to Sakuko's house, you can find a Dried Carcass (⛩200) on some stone bricks and a Bandage in the corner. In the alley with the Hokora shrine, there's a Kudzu Tea (⛩100) on a barrel.
At the start of the mountain path, you will find the second red doll. Examine her and defeat another wave of enemies to proceed. In the arena, there's a Bandage on a bench to the left and an Arare (⛩10) on a plant stand to the right. Go up the mountain path. Check the house on the right to find a Higashi (⛩80) on a bicycle seat next to the red postbox. More monsters will meet you on the path. In a vegetable garden on the path, you can find an Antique Comb (⛩300) inside the shed (before the Hokora shrine). A Yokan (⛩30) is on a bench to the south that's next to the garden, and around the house you will find a Ramune (⛩20) in the corner.
Continue following the path, and you will find the third red doll. Examine her and fight off the last and the toughest wave of monsters. To the west of the area, you can find a First Aid Kit on a bench and a Divine Water (⛩50) inside the shed. Run to the Shimizu residence and watch the cutscene.
